Sauna Factory Evaluation: A Distributor’s Quality Checklist

Evaluate a sauna factory with a practical checklist for model documentation, sample review, packaging, inspection records and after-sales support.

Evaluate a sauna factory by the evidence attached to the model you intend to buy. Product photographs and a general company presentation do not establish specification consistency, shipment quality or service support. From our manufacturing perspective at MAJUS, a useful supplier review connects the agreed model, approved sample, inspection criteria and shipment records. This guide helps distributors organize those checks without treating a catalog claim as a test result.

1. Match the factory and product evidence to the order

Start by clarifying the parties involved in production and supply. Ask which company will issue the quotation, which facility will make or assemble the product and which party handles after-sales requests. Keep the answers with the purchase specification.

  • Product identity: request the exact model code, specification revision and reference photographs.
  • Production scope: ask which operations the facility performs and which components are sourced from other suppliers.
  • Technical evidence: request available reports and documentation applicable to the quoted configuration and destination.
  • Traceability: agree how product labels, batch identifiers or other records will connect a delivered unit to the shipment.
  • Changes: establish how component substitutions or specification revisions will be disclosed and approved.

Check that documents refer to the correct product. For example, the MAJUS HY8 listing describes a 3kW, 240V traditional sauna, while the HF1 listing describes a 1,350W, 120V infrared sauna. Documentation for one should not be assumed to cover the other. These are catalog values reviewed October 4, 2026, not independent inspection findings.

2. Agree what the sample and shipment inspections will check

Write the acceptance checklist before inspection. “Good quality” is not a measurable instruction. Identify the characteristic, the reference document, the method of review and the evidence expected. Technical testing should be defined and performed by appropriately qualified parties.

Review area Agreed reference Useful evidence
Cabin and finish Approved sample, drawings and agreed finish criteria Recorded observations and photographs of identified units
Dimensions and assembly Dimension drawing and assembly instructions Measurement record and assembly review
Heater, panels and controls Approved component list and technical requirements Component identification and applicable test records
Accessories and labels Contents list and approved label artwork Contents check and legible label photographs
Packaging Agreed packing specification Protection, package count, marking and packed-weight records

Agree the inspection scope and sampling approach in advance. State how defects will be recorded, who reviews them, what corrective evidence is needed and whether a follow-up review is required. A sample approval does not by itself verify every unit in a later shipment.

For packaging, distinguish a visual packing review from a transport test. Photos can show how a glass door or controller is protected, but they do not prove a package will withstand a defined transport condition. If testing is required, specify the method and acceptance criteria with the relevant technical provider.

3. Evaluate service support before committing to a range

A distributor needs a workable response when a customer reports damage, a missing component or a fault. Agree the reporting process before the shipment leaves. Keep the model code, shipment reference, photographs and issue description together so the request can be assessed accurately.

  • Request an illustrated parts list or another agreed method of identifying replacement components.
  • Clarify warranty coverage, exclusions and the process for reviewing a claim.
  • Confirm responsibilities for parts, transportation and local service costs in writing.
  • Discuss replacement-part availability for the proposed range rather than assuming every part is held in stock.
  • Record how revised parts or instructions will be communicated to your service team.

Does a certificate logo on a website prove the quoted sauna is covered?

No. Request the underlying documentation and check its model scope, configuration and issuing details. Seek appropriate verification where needed; a logo alone is not the evidence file.

Can a video tour replace a product inspection?

A tour can help you understand a facility and its stated workflow. It does not replace checking the ordered product against the approved specification and agreed inspection criteria.

What should a distributor ask MAJUS for first?

Send the shortlisted model links, destination market, intended application and order quantities. Ask for the current specification and available supporting documents, then identify the evidence still needed for your supplier review.

Continue with our wholesale quotation checklist and OEM sample approval guide.

Discuss your sourcing project with MAJUS: send your company name, destination market, preferred model, quantity by model and target delivery window through our contact page or website chat. Ask us to confirm the specification, available options and commercial terms in writing before placing an order.

Compare evidence across candidate factories

Use a supplier evidence sheet when reviewing MAJUS alongside Smartmak, AlphaSauna, Finnleo or SAWO. Record the exact model, document title and revision, issuing party, scope, date checked and open questions. Separate a manufacturer’s own statement from an independent report, customer feedback or a document that covers another model.

Evidence question Record
Who makes or assembles the quoted model? Company, facility and production scope
Which document covers this configuration? Model code, revision and destination market
How is the sample approved? Acceptance points, photos, drawings and sign-off
What happens after delivery? Parts identification, claim route and responsibilities

A polished website is useful for discovering questions. It is not, by itself, proof of a certificate, production capacity or after-sales performance.
